Character Info

Character's Name: Takamachi Nanoha (Eastern order)
Character's Canon: Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
Character's Age: 25
Canon Point: Early into Force
Background/History: Her Wiki page!
Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense? She can sense magical surges, useful for sensing when large attacks are coming or some kind of monster induced disturbance. Par for the course for a magical girl.

Personality: Born to Takamachi Shirou and Momoka, Nanoha was the baby girl of the family, with parents that never got over their honeymoon and siblings that much older than her whom she had very little in common with. That is not to say she was not loved, far to the contrary, but she struggled from a very young age to find her place in the world. That is, until she met Yuuno Scrya at age 9 and became a magical girl. Nanoha is therefore fiercely protective of the bonds she has forged in the fires of conflict, and hurting those close to her is a ticket to a one way trip to the wrong end of a Divine Buster. That said, she is also incredibly forgiving, and is quick to befriend those who have shown no malice, to the extent that her greatest friend and finest partner was also her first rival.

That said, while fate conspires to keep her in trouble, Nanoha is, at heart, a young woman who wants to live with her friends and family, and who would like nothing more than to cheer on her adopted daughter at her martial arts tournaments while her partner does their share of the worrying. She is someone who is truly in love with the simple joys in life, someone who would much rather soar through open skies than ones filled with enemies. This is why while she is recognised as the Ace of Aces, one of the greatest fighters in all the dimensions, she ended up pursuing a career in teaching, coaching entire generations of magi as someone who has been there and done that from a very young age, taking to the field herself only as special favours or in true emergencies.

Nanoha seems young, but she has been in the centre of enough great events that she even has a series of movies in-universe about her exploits, and fifteen years of flying has given her a wealth of experience to draw from. What may seem like a devil may care attitude is actually the quiet confidence of someone who believes that there is no longer much that can truly blind-side her, (as opposed to her partner who has become something of a worrywart after seeing so much trouble in their shared lives,) and she can handle just about any situation that turns up.

These long years have also served to temper some of her more difficult traits, such as a tendency to push herself too hard. A life-threatening incident in her teenage years has taught her the value of moderation, but the same drive that caused her to overwork herself then still burns in her now. She is still something of a workaholic, albeit in a far less risky line of work, but more importantly she still possesses the willingness to push herself over the edge for a better shot at achieving what she feels is important. This is exemplified by the end of the Sankt Cradle incident when she was 19, the damage she sustained from overuse of magic then causing her to have to go on light duty for the better part of five years so she could properly recover.

Her confidence occasionally backfires, when she assumes everyone believes in her totally, occasionally causing her to act on her own without fully informing her allies, leaving them in the dark; or when she drafts lesson plans without fully explaining the thought processes that goes into her curriculum leaving them frustrated with the pace of lessons. It has tended to work out in the end so far, but Nanoha is someone who has inadvertently surrounded herself with good, trustworthy friends and allies.

In battle, Nanoha is exceptionally tactical in spite of her considerable raw power, specialising in mid-long range bombardment but is also perfectly capable in all-range duels, capable of switching between squad-based and individual tactics on the fly. She is known to send out search drones to track down her true targets while distracting major threats herself, and a signature manoeuvre of hers is tricking her opponent into committing to an attack so she can catch them in a binding spell where they have no choice but to take one of her massive charged blasts.

While Nanoha is capable of rugged independence, and expects the same out of those she teaches, it must be emphasised that she would very much rather not have to be. She is most at home with friends and family, and much like a rabbit in Japanese folklore, would probably die of loneliness. Her love for Fate, Vivio, and all her other assorted friends cannot be emphasised enough.

All in all, Takamachi Nanoha is a cheery young woman who happens to be frighteningly good at her job, and would be an asset to any team that could deal with her recklessness and good-heartedness.

Powers/Abilities: Nanoha is an S+ Ranked aerial mage of the Mid-childa school of magic. This naturally means she has access to a variety of cantrips such as telekinesis and telepathy, but they're practically expected. She's can of course, fly, or she would not be much of an aerial mage, craft her signature white Barrier Jacket out of mana, create barriers and shields to protect herself and others, and most famously blast people with beams that utterly annihilate inanimate objects but mostly knock living creatures out and around (stun mode is a privilege she has never chosen to revoke, not a right.) She can also access Blaster Modes 1 through 3, which give her increased firepower at the cost of her stamina, with overuse potentially causing internal damage.

Her wiki page linked above under Background/History has an extensive, but not exhaustive list of her combat spells. Her three most prominent spells are as follows:
Axel Shooter: Nanoha fires off a barrage of magical bullets. They're slightly slower than most equivalent spells, but are mentally guided, allowing her to make them home in on her targets as long as she keeps focus.
Divine Buster: Nanoha charges and fires a massive beam. Infamous for breaking through walls like nothing.
Starlight Breaker: Nanoha gathers all the magical energy in the area to add to her own power and uses it to fire a blast of truly ludicrous power. Collateral damage is a feature, not a bug.

Weapons & Other Special Inventory:
Her Intelligent Device, Raising Heart. Simultaneously a portable computer and the core of her staff when she's transformed! Notable for being able to spawn flying remote bits that allows her to attack from several angles at once.
Magical cartridges. While technically used in conjunction with Raising Heart, they're worth noting separately. They are “shells” filled with magical energy that are loaded into devices to provide their user with quick bursts of increased power.
AEC Fortress and AEC Strike Cannon, special equipment created to counter enemies which can nullify magic via on-board generators that can transform magical energy into plasma blasts and shields. Also looks cool.

CEREALIA-Specific

Haha, so you're telling me that everyone is dead and I'm the only one you managed to save? If that's a joke, it's not a good one.

[Her expression is a picture of serenity, but the armrests of her chair have splintered beneath her grip. If Nanoha could clear the game, then surely at least Fate could have made it as well, but the fact was that she was the only one here, and there was really no way to find out. It was... frustrating, to put it lightly.]

But if what you're saying is true, then there's really no choice to be made here. I'll help save everyone, that's only natural.

[Nanoha had seen first hand how far loss and desperation could drive people, but she was still only human after all: She would turn over heaven and hell to protect her family. They had no idea what was about to hit them.]

These Flamines, I'll help you with them. The Ace of Aces isn't just for show, you know.

You're sure I'm the only one from my world though?

Third-Person Sample:
ViViD. I bet Vivio would love this, it's just one letter off from her name too! Fate, too, she wouldn't have to worry about anyone getting hurt in this game.Thoughts ran through Nanoha's mind, but they were quietly pushed aside as the numbers counted down to zero. It was a simulated battle, but it was a battle nonetheless. She had to focus. If the game was fun, she could bring it home later, and show it off to her family, but she would never find out if she half-assed it.

This is pretty bad taste, huh?” Nanoha said to nobody in particular as the scenery formed around her, the image of a Mid-childa destroyed in battle. Vivio was probably a bit too young for this game if this was the first image that greeted them then. No matter, she might find some other use for it. Maybe some private game time with Fate.

Raising Heart, if you'll please.” Nanoha donned her Barrier Jacket and took to the air, expertly weaving through a barrage of enemy fire. It was a little unfairly un-gamelike with how she got jumped before she even got time to properly get her bearings, but that was easy enough to handle. She had been in worse firefights.

Quickly scanning the battlefield, Nanoha was surprised at the sheer variety of enemy types that were on display here. Some humanoid, some robotic, some bestial, and she was pretty sure there was a giant monster of some kind in the distance. That was impressive effort put into the game, she thought, but everything looked the same lying unconscious and sprawled across the ground.

Let's see,” she checked the mission objectives while casually deflecting a cannon shell with shield summoned with a wave of her hand, “get to the end of the level and defeat the boss creature. I can do that.” She grinned as a magic circle formed around her feet and she braced herself against the created footing. A sphere of pink energy formed at the tip of her staff, rapidly growing in size as the mage charged.

Divine...” She called out. “BUSTER!” A wave of magical energy blasted forth from Raising Heart, cutting a swathe through the enemies before her, knocking them out of the sky by what had to be the dozens. Good enough, she thought as she covered herself in a barrier and charged forward at full speed. If the goal was to take down the boss, then the small fry really did not matter. Just get rid of the ones in the way and move on.

It was a short distance to the end of the stage as the Nanoha flies, and the mage soon found herself face to face with what was perhaps the second ugliest giant monster she had ever seen in her life. Still, ugly monsters were easy enough to deal with. It was the ones that could talk that caused the most grief. Ka-chunk! Ka-chunk! The most wonderful sound of cartridges loading filled the air. With enemies like these, just blast and move on. So that was just what she did.

Next level, please.”
